At CFC level, a concept has been developed for professional maturity during apprenticeship (MP 1).

The distinction that is now made between profile B (basic training) and profile E (further training) has not had a conclusive effect on the labor market. The new apprenticeship system makes it easier to take into account the strengths of students and the expectations of companies.

Last June, the vocational training partners had decided to postpone the entry into force of the reform, which was initially planned for the summer of 2022, to the summer of 2023. This will give cantons, vocational schools and training companies “more time for implementation”, says Sefri.

The vocational training partners established the National Coordination Body (ONC) in the summer of 2020, which is responsible for implementing reforms in the sales professions and the apprenticeship of commercial employees. Representatives of the 19 training and examination sectors, vocational schools and cantons were involved in the whole process.
