Nicole Collin has been a correspondent for Roullens since 2001. Passionate about history, she likes to tell the story of her adopted village. I was born in Limousin, where I spent the first 7 years of my life † In 1955 Nicole and her parents moved and it was in Paris that she received her education. There she will meet Daniel, her husband, who, like her, works at Urssaf. In 1974 the couple got a transfer to Carcassonne. Two years later, Nicole and Daniel buy land in Roullens, on which they build the house where they have lived since 1976. The village, she is fully invested in it. I created the library and volunteered between 1988 and 2016. I read there for the little ones and I loved the hotlines † Nicole also founded the parents’ association of the village school and the walking club in 2004, which then offered walks through the village. The idea was to get everyone involved. I also suggested two circuits, a short one for older people and a longer one, and we met on the way to finish together Friendly, dynamic, enthusiastic, Nicole knows how to marvel at simple things with a good mood.

Now retired, she has a busy and well organized schedule : cycling twice a week with her friends (about 40 km), music lessons twice a week and rehearsing twice a week in the two music groups where Nicole plays the saxophone. At the music school I play with young people, there are several mixed generations. Sitting behind the desk, the age difference no longer exists, they bring me a lot and I hope to do the same for them. Music is getting closer. Everything we do together really brings us closer And cycling with Nicole is of course also a shared story. With his grandson Léo and his daughter-in-law Géraldine, all three travel kilometers every summer, bicycle bags and bicycle trailers full of camping equipment. In 2020 we did Carcassonne / Sète on the canal. In 2021, Arcachon/Hendaye, ie 400 miles in a short week. We are camping and my daughter-in-law is taking care of everything The program for this summer is still uncertain : castles of the Loire or a Toulouse/Bordeaux via the Garonne . Canal
