FRENCH DAYS. There are only a few days left until the official launch of the French Days. Find out all the launch dates and the first promotions to expect for the event.

[Mis à jour le mardi 26 avril à 17h00] The French Days are coming up again soon. There are only a few days left to prepare for the promotional event that many consumers have been waiting for. The French Days start on Wednesday, May 4 at 7 a.m.! You will find many promotions throughout the event ending on Monday 9th but next.

Many promotional products are expected during the French Days. During the last edition, the most popular product was an electric scooter. Are we going to find that last one? It is certain that the French Days are prepared at many specialist shops.

The French Days were launched on the sidelines of the famous Black Friday, a major commercial operation at the end of the year directly from the United States. For years, some e-commerce professionals in France imagined a reaction to Black Friday. The operation was even pushed by the government, as Delphine Gény-Stephann, Secretary of State to the Minister of Economy and Finance, called for a new commercial operation “Made in France” in January 2018. The initiative will finally be launched in the spring of 2018 by some major French brands to counter the giant Amazon. It has since become customary to be held at the end of April and even enjoys a second edition in the fall. Adapting the Black Friday codes to French customs, the French Days offer all kinds of promotions initiated by major players such as Fnac, Boulanger or CDiscount.

There are two editions of the French Days per year, one taking place in the spring and the other at the end of the year. The first is usually held in late April-early May. The different organizers of the event have formalized the launch of the French Days Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 7 a.m. with an end scheduled for Monday, May 9, 2022.

Given the health context associated with the Covid-19 pandemic, the first edition for the year 2021 was postponed and finally took place from May 27 to June 2, 2021. The second edition of the French Days 2021, meanwhile, was held from Friday, September 24 until Monday, September 27.

Six brands are behind the French Days: Boulanger, Fnac-Darty, Cdiscount, La Redoute, Rue du commerce and Showroomprivé. All of these brands, of course, participate in these promotions, but they are usually not alone. Many other companies and brands have already participated in previous editions of the French Days. During the last editions, we were able to mention in particular the participation of Electro Dépôt, Général d’Optique, Lyreco and many other brands that usually use it to launch their own special activities to surf the French Days effect.

The 6 brands behind the French Days © French days

The well-known French brand specialized in cultural and high-tech products is of course one of the participants in the French Days. This commercial campaign makes it possible to realize significant savings on several references. In particular, during the last edition, Fnac offered major price reductions on various 4K televisions, smartphones and tablets. But the palm of the most wanted product in 2021 finally went to a Xiaomi electric scooter. We will keep you informed about the various offers on the official website of Fnac.

Frequently used in promotional campaigns, the CDiscount site is one of the brands that initiated the French Days movement. The brand is certainly the one that has offered the most different products in the last edition. In particular, there were promotions on laptops, external batteries, household appliances and even some video games. Like the other French Days participants, CDiscount should be back for the next edition in 2022.

The French brand that specializes in electronics and household appliances is also affected by the French Days. In mid-2021 Boulanger placed a number of very interesting promotions in the context of this special French operation. Notably, there were several price cuts on voice assistants from Amazon and Google, as well as some references from smartphones and connected objects. Boulanger should also be present for the next edition of the French Days 2022.

While it also offers high-tech products, including TVs, the Darty brand sets itself apart from its competitors and partners in small and large home appliances. The company is one of the leaders in this field by regularly offering the latest references available in home appliances. It would therefore not be so surprising if Darty offered us this type of product again for the next edition. We can already expect refrigerators, ovens or other appliances for the home.

Although the e-commerce giant is not directly a player in the French Days 2021, Amazon has a habit of showing different nice offers on a whole range of products. These may very well benefit consumers looking for the best possible price, without necessarily being attached to the “French Days” operation itself. The American giant therefore offers its own offers, on the sidelines of the French operation.
