The second floor will include a multipurpose room, two dormitories, a dining area, a rest room and a kitchen, in addition to a terrace.
This project is also that of the municipality Pointe-des-Cascadeswhich will also be served by the new barracks.
“I am delighted with the $4.5 million investment unveiled today on Vaudreuil-Dorion† Public safety is of the utmost importance to our government; that’s why we’re proud to support the municipal sector in optimizing the infrastructure for fire safety services across Quebec. I also want to thank the excellent collaborative work of Vaudreuil-Dorion and from Pointe-des-Cascades, which makes it possible to realize this important project that aims to ensure the protection of their community. †
Andrée Laforest, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing
“Once again, the Quebec government reaffirms its desire to improve the quality of the living environment in our regions. As a Member of Parliament and as a citizen, I know how much difference these investments make for municipalities. I’m excited that we help people provide Vaudreuil-Dorion and from Pointe-des-Cascades a modern and safe fire station that meets their needs and that will also provide an optimal and safe working environment for the fire service personnel. †
Marilyn PicardMNA for Soulanges
“The fire station in Lotbinière, built in 1966, no longer meets the needs of our fire service. I would like to thank the government of Quebec for its significant financial contribution to the construction of this new building, which will be the second main barracks serving the urban area of Vaudreuil-Dorion and will serve firefighters 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The location will also be the municipality Pointe-des-Cascades† This major investment also sends a concrete signal about the importance that the municipal council attaches to the revitalization of the sector. Harwood-the Lotbinière, where the citizen is central. †
Guy Pilonmayor of Vaudreuil-Dorion
“The RECIM grant from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing has the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion and the municipality Pointe-des-Cascades working together on a win-win intermunicipal agreement: the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion has been able to receive a large subsidy for the construction of his new barracks near our municipality. Pointe-des-Cascades can now rely on a full-time fire brigade in the fire station to respond quickly to emergency calls, any time of the day or night. †
Peter Zyntynsky, Mayor of Pointe-des-Cascades
